The Posen Park District was established in 1959 to provide outdoor recreation opportunities to the Posen community. Currently, the Posen Park District operates 5 parks with various recreational outlets including playgrounds, picnic pavilions, open fields for playing sports, a skate park, outdoor fitness equipment, and basketball courts. Community events throughout the year include Movies in the Park, Resale in the Park, and the Posen Park Fest Carnival. BUDGET & APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
The Combined Annual Budget & Appropriation Ordinance for the Posen Park District is available for public inspection as of May 4th, 2022. The total amount appropriated for all funds for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2022 and ending April 30, 2023 is Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($450,000). Interested parties may call the Posen Park District Office at (708) 371-1484 to set up a time to view the Ordinance. The Ordinance is also posted for public viewing at our office at Memorial Park 14200 Campbell Ave. A Public Hearing for the 2022/2023 Budget & Appropriation Ordinance will be held during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday June 7th, 2022 at 6:30PM at the Offices of the Posen Park District at 14200 Campbell Avenue, in Memorial Park. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and submit their questions regarding the Budget & Appropriation Ordinance. Final action on, and passage of the Ordinance is scheduled for Tuesday June 7th, 2022. The Posen Park District is seeking applicants for the position of Seasonal Maintenance Worker. All applicants must be legally able to work in the United States, have a valid Illinois Driver’s License, an acceptable driving history record, and be able to pass an employment physical, background check, and drug screen. This is a seasonal position from approximately mid-to-late May through early-to-mid September and typical work hours for this position vary between 15 – 25 hours per week. Hours per week and start/end date of employment are dependent on weather conditions and the needs of the District. We are willing to work with the right candidate(s) with regards to other employment positions, school/summer school schedules, start and end date of employment, etc. The intended rate of pay for this position is $12.00 per hour.
Job duties for this position include, but are not limited to: grounds maintenance (grass cutting, weed whacking, trash pickup, weed removal), painting, graffiti removal, inspection and maintenance of playground equipment and pavilions, emptying trash receptacles, maintenance of landscape equipment, organization of maintenance garage, set up and staffing of events if needed, other duties as assigned.
